Once upon a time, during a pandemic, in the ivy-covered towers of Yale University, two graduate students—Jack and Ruchi—found themselves on a fateful journey, the kind of journey that only modern technology could provide.

Jack’s profile read: “2020 Social Distancing MVP. Fan of running, podcasts, and oxygen which I breathe pretty much every day.” His humor about surviving quarantine life was the perfect blend of sarcasm and sincerity. Ruchi, who was stuck in her 350 SF apartment, swiped right. “Cute and funny, that’s rare...” she thought.  After a month of texting and facetiming they decided to meet in person—a socially distanced walk, of course. Jack arrived early,  while Ruchi showed up trying to look cute for who was going to be, unbeknownst to her, a future co-parent to the dog she always dreamed of having. By the end of their walk, it was clear that the pandemic had thrown them into a weird, socially distanced situation. Though their first date was awkward, distant, and weird, it turned out to be exactly what they needed. Cooking dates, turned into bingeing 90 Day Fiancé and their bond grew stronger.

Ruchi moved to Chicago for Jack and once they brought their dog Burny home, they felt like they had a cute little family going. Burny eventually asked them to make things official, so Jack obliged. On June 19th, 2023, he got down on one knee in the romantic city of Bruge to ask Ruchi if she would spend the rest of her life with him. She said Yes! 
 
But first, they travelled the world together. After seeing 19 countries through 4 continents, 3 wonders of the world and a safari through the Serengeti later, they are ready to say "I do!". Ruchi and Jack are hoping you can join them as they get married in a 12th century monastery in Portugal!
